Chris Mayne is a name every AFL fan knows — a 300-game veteran who represented both Collingwood and Fremantle with distinction over a decorated career. When he turned his attention to developing the next generation of footballers, he brought that same commitment to excellence to the Mayne Academy.
CLIK was trusted to build the digital home for that vision.
Launching a new sports academy means building credibility from day one. Chris Mayne’s name carried enormous weight in the football community, but a business is only as professional as the experience it delivers — and that experience now begins online.
The academy needed a website that matched the calibre of its founder: energetic, credible and built for performance. More critically, it needed a seamless way to manage athlete intake, session bookings and programme enrolments — without relying on third-party booking platforms that weren’t built for this specific use case.
We treated this as two parallel projects: a brand-forward website that would capture the energy and credibility of the academy, and a purpose-built software solution that would give the Mayne team complete operational control of their bookings and athlete management.
Both needed to work flawlessly — because when parents and aspiring athletes visit, the experience is a direct reflection of the standard Chris Mayne holds himself to.

This was not an adapted plugin or off-the-shelf solution. It was built from the ground up to match exactly how the Mayne Academy operates.
Every word on the site was written to strike the right balance: elite credibility through Chris’s playing career, and warm accessibility for the parents and young athletes who are the primary audience. The tone is aspirational, energetic and clear.
The user journey was mapped from the perspective of three distinct visitors — the aspiring athlete, the parent making a booking decision, and the academy administrator. Each path through the site was designed to reduce friction and drive action.
